We all know that there are different types of written content online. Here’s a question for you to think about as you read this blog. What’s the difference between a blog and an article? While both are forms of written content, they serve different purposes. Here’s a quick overview of the differences between blogs and articles:

Blogs are informal. They are typically personal and persuasive in nature. The aim of a blog is to get the reader to take some sort of action. Actions can include: buying a product, signing up for a service, or simply agreeing with the writer’s point of view. Blogs are informal because they tend to be less formal than articles.

Articles are formal. They are typically educational in nature and aim to provide the reader with new information. Unlike blogs, which often have a personal tone, articles maintain a neutral tone and avoid persuasion.
