Writing is a skill that takes time, patience, and commitment. You must be devoted to the page. If you create a simple yet effective approach to writing then your process will make sense. Take your time to put the verbs and adjectives together. Many creatives struggle with the idea of writing. Well, I’m here to provide some simple writing strategies that motivate you to grab the pen, pad, and laptop. Let’s start with the structure of your thoughts when you write.

I prefer the old-fashioned way to start writing. My thoughts become clearer when I write them down. When I started expressing my passion for writing as emotions, my readers understood my content. Some of you might be thinking, what? Emotions. Yes! When you tap into your emotional intelligence as a writer, you are unleashing a whole new beast. Our emotions allow us to be vulnerable as writers. As a result, our readers can imagine themselves getting lost in our stories as we take them on a ride.

The challenge is that most writers take their readers on “terrifying rides” with their words. What do I mean by that phrase? I simply mean that your thoughts, syntax, and grammar within the story terrify the reader. They can’t understand the point you’re trying to make with your words. Let your words take your reader on a fun, thrilling ride from the introduction to the climax.

This might seem like a challenge when you’re writing for the first time. That first step might be challenging. You might be at a loss for words. If you’re struggling, I suggest that you take a leap. The magic happens outside of your comfort zone. If writer’s block creeps into your mind, visualize the possibilities that await you. Don’t question yourself instantly, believe in your ability to conquer your goals. When you write simple content for reader then your story will come together as you simply fill that void.

I’ve got some simple writing tips for you that will release your imagination as you write. The process doesn’t have to be hard! All you need to do is find your rhythm. Now, it will take patience, commitment, and focus. You’ve got access to the powerful words in your mind.

You might know of “writing strategies” as the “writing process.” However, I decided to flip the terminology on it’s head. I’m thinking in the affirmative when I write. Even though I go through a process, my words are used as strategies to increase engagement. That’s how I came up with “writing strategies.” No matter what I’m writing about, my words have a simple, strategic intent for my reader. That intent comes from a place of passion and purpose that I’ve developed over time.

Here are 7 strategies that will help any writer get started on the right foot. Think before you speak or write to impact those around you. Focus on your reader as you write out content. Write like you talk so that your brand message is on point. Keep sentences short and punchy!

1. Writing for the reader

2. Using descriptive language

3. Giving examples

4. Providing evidence

5. Making sure your writing is clear and concise

6. Avoiding jargon, clichés, and words that are vague or unclear

7. Have fun!

Use these writing tips to start your journey today. Let your mind wander with each page. Be descriptive with your thoughts. Rewrite your story amid all the chaos and uncertainty around us. This is a new day where your words set the tempo. Believe in what you write, speak, and think. Manifest your dreams into reality. If this pandemic has taught us anything, it’s how to pivot, adapt, and strive forward. I want you to do the same thing with your words. Use illustrations to bring your stories to life. Coordinate vivid colors with your words. Give your reader your undivided attention on every page.

Writing is not just about the words on paper or screen. Think about how you speak the words you write too. Make sure that your tone of voice is expressed as friendly or educational depending on the purpose of your story. Keep your sentence structure simple with consistent words that match the purpose of your content. Finally, always proofread your work for errors, punctuation, and spelling/grammar. Make sure your written content is of quality before submitting your words to be published.

The key to writing for your readers is making sure you are clear, concise and consistent. Your goal should be to help the reader understand what you’re saying as quickly as possible so they can take action. To achieve this, start with an outline of your ideas before you jump right into the draft. Let your outline become a roadmap to the ideal draft you intend to write.

Explore your ideas with a passion and purpose for the reader. Write in a descriptive manner to paint a vivid picture for your readers. These simple yet effective steps will brighten up your day once you apply them consistently. Remember, people read content differently online. Write to extend your words as a major part of content marketing. People learn in different ways. Let your words be a great tool for others to enjoy as they learn.
